Make Farm Safety your New Year's Resolution

8th January 2014

Why not add Farm Safety to your list of New Year’s Resolution for 2014.  To date over 2000 farmers have attended a Farm Safe Awareness event which highlights how not taking the time to Stop & Think can result in serious accidents both on and off the farm.

FarmSafe Awareness events are practical two hour sessions delivered by farmers for farmers. They offer practical demonstrations covering the everyday hazards faced by farmers and farming families. Topics covered will include: Working at Height; Slurry Risks; Handling Livestock; and Working with Machinery.

FarmSafe Awareness is an initiative developed by the industry through the Farm Safety Partnership and is designed specifically for the Northern Ireland farming community and delivered locally on 37 participating Focus Farms by a network of dedicated farm facilitators. The awareness training is considered an important element of a wider range of collaborative measures designed to increase awareness with the primary purpose of reducing farm accidents and fatalities.

Registrations can be accepted on a group or individual basis and sessions will run once a minimum of 10 people are registered for one FarmSafe Awareness course.  Sessions can run during week days or on Saturdays as demands request.
